We've been gathering snapshots of the HOW Conference save-the-date sticker in action
from designers who are sending them in to HOWConference@fwmedia.com. See last
week's post, and a previous
photo of a sticker adorning a designer's Christmas tree. If you want to play along,
check out the current 25th Anniversary
issue of HOW, find the stickers, stick 'em and send us your pix. Today's photo
comes from a designer named Darci. Looks like this was a fun night at the bar.

Peter Callesen is an amazing
paper artist based in Denmark. It's awesome to see his stunning 3D creations rise
from a simple field of white paper.
A large part of my work is made from A4 sheets of paper. It is probably
the most common and consumed media used for carrying information today. This is why
we rarely notice the actual materiality of the A4 paper. By taking away all the information
and starting from scratch using the blank white A4 paper sheet for my creations, I
feel I have found a material that we are all able to relate to, and at the same time
the A4 paper sheet is neutral and open to fill with different meaning. The thin white
paper gives the paper sculptures a frailty that underlines the tragic and romantic
theme of my works.

This charming stop-motion
animation comes with a downloadable PDF of the main character: a flying elephant.
From Flat to Flight is not your everyday
paper-elephant-coming-to-life-stop-motion-animation film.It’s also a sample of the
stunning and playful papercrafts created all the time by the passionate people at
the Portland, Oregon, agency, Curiosity
Group. Much more than pretty pictures assuming dimension, Curiosity’s papercrafts
help brands tell their stories in a truly tangible way that lives on even after the
computer’s turned off—ever more important as “experiences” increasingly live online.

The business card for design collective Parliament
of Owls is both stunning and practical. It functions perfectly for the trio of
designing women who seem to be tackling the freelance world head on. It's perfectly
clear what kinds of work they do and exactly how talented they are.

I'm utterly charmed by the work of Netherlands based designer/illustrator/ typographer Esther
Aarts, who often include hand-drawn type in her images. This New
Year's card she created for an accounting firm tickled my fancy because of the
adorable fanged stapler.
Her black-and-white marker doodles also
show just how creative she is.
